FARMINGTON, Conn. (AP) — Bank representatives cleaning out a foreclosed home in Farmington have stumbled upon 130 guns, 20,000 rounds of ammunition together with what appeared to be a grenade and a mortar.
Police dispatcher Tom Sevigny said on Saturday that an investigation showed the guns were legally registered to the resident. The grenade and mortar turned out to be inert.
Sevigny says police have seized the weapons and authorities will not file charges against the owner.
The guns included shotguns and handguns.
The bank foreclosed on the Fairview Drive home on Friday. Bank representatives went to clean out the home before the occupant had cleared out his belonging when they stumbled upon the alarming cache, prompting them to call authorities to investigate.

Can someone explain to me exactly how the 2nd amendment was meant to allow someone to have enough weapons for a small army? There really needs to be a law that only allows non-gun dealers to have one hand gun and one hunting rifle.

Laws won’t help? Australia, Brittan, and Japan have all made it either completely illegal or very difficult to own guns. Crimes committed with guns are almost non-existent. People will argue: But they have a higher instance of violent crime! Assuming that is true, so what? I’d much rather have a higher instance of violent crime, where one person commits an act of violence on one other person, than have it so that one person can commit a violent act on MANY people.
As for the government not being able to protect us anymore.. You should really get out of your home in the middle of the woods and try living in an actual city. I’ve lived in San Francisco for 7 years now, and not once have I ever felt that I needed a gun or that a violent crime is about to happen to me.
Enough is enough. By insisting you need a gun to protect yourself is only pushing the idea that the only solution to a problem is more violence.

Whether he/she owned 1 or 101, what is the difference so long as they are all legallly owned. You can only use 1 at a time. People need to stop freaking out just because they encoiunter a gun(s) in everyday life.
Maybe if they had sold all the weapons, they could have afforded to pay the mortgage.
Oh yeah… how stupid of me. Of course if the person who killed 20 five year olds couldn’t easily get his hands on guns he would have just created a bomb to do the same thing! Seriously, are you really that dense that you think it’s easy to get the materials, put those materials together, go and plant the bomb, so that accurately kills a target? And furthermore stop with the absurd argument that if we ban guns, only criminals will have guns. That isn’t the case in other countries, and there is no basis in fact for that simplistic argument.
Let me put it another way. I can’t go to Walgreens and get a box of cold medicine without giving id and being tracked because some idiot decided to turn it into meth. Yet I can go buy a a gun in some places without any trouble at all.

If they went into the house before the man could remove his belongings then they illegally seized his belongings. I’d love to see the police faces and news media covering them handing them all over with an apology.

The worst school killing? 1927 in BATH Michigan – 38 killed – guess what? NO GUNS INVOLVED. Seriously, google it It was bad. The common thread between this massacre of 80+ years ago and this horrible incident in Connecticut? It was no weapon, but rather, a disturbed individual. Knee jerk laws may someday be able to do away with firearms – but can we ever do away with disturbed and determined individuals? I doubt it
Why is it when a person kills one or more people with a car, it’s the person who drove the cars fault and no one calls for a ban on cars, but when someone shoots another person, it’s the guns fault, and guns need to be banned?
