But I think this is truly unfair. As a US citizen, we have to have all the proper documentation to obtain a license. Jump through hoops in some cases to get something simple as a loan. And if you see right on the CT DMV you will see what is portrayed as an acceptable Form of ID. So tell me again, how can people find it fair to treat others differently? You need to treat everyone the SAME. If they want a license, become a citizen. Many do it. All should. : Taken from the CT DMV:

1099 (issued within 5 years)

Non-US Citizens not eligible for a Social Security number must present proof of ineligibility from the Social Security Administration.
