Blind Drag Racer Motivates Local Students

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) — He plans to be the first blind man to drive a car at more than 200 miles per hour and tonight he was in Chicopee to motivate others.
Jay Blake with Follow A Dream spoke at Porter and Chester’s Career Day about the power of positive thinking.
The drag racer has even established his own non-profit in the hopes of inspiring people.
Blake told us, “Follow A Dream is a non-profit organization designed to educate children and adults on positive thinking, self-determination, and teamwork…and we do that through motor sports.”
Blake races in both regional and national events. Competing in 13 last year.
Kids, no matter how you do in school you’ll have a future. You might be the one to invent the next great thing or you may be the one who thinks its a good idea to give a blind man the keys to a car…
All he needs is one of those new self driving cars.
