First of all, you ladies are way off base. I understand that you are worried about the welfare of animals but perhaps you can invest your comments to the 70 million stray cats (estimated by the ASPCA) in the United States alone.

Otto was given a huge, warm home, the ability to come and go as he pleased, veterinary-grade food twice a day, an open lap, and several empty guest rooms that provide warm beds and cozy nooks for napping.
Still, he was not happy. The owners frequently took him to the vet to find out what was wrong and causing his terrible urine habits. For stress, he received kitty Prozac, for space, he received multiple litter boxes with differing litter. At the end of the day, he preferred to go outside.

A horrible neighbor of the owners is suspected of shooting at Otto with a shotgun whenever he noticed the cat near his property. The owners invested thousands into new flooring, furniture, specialty food, prescriptions, and recommendations from the vet and tried everything to get him to go inside in the boxes. His stress levels were through the roof and so were the owners’.

After trying it all, they drove him to MA where a relative lives on a farm with great amenities for “wild” pets. He started out okay (they received updates from the relative) but then he suddenly disappeared. They were devastated. When they learned he was safe and brought into the shelter, they were elated.

Before you start nit picking at this story, I urge you to begin looking at stories you read in a positive way. A man drove 12 hours on one of his few days off to claim his pet he thought he lost forever. A couple tried everything they could to accommodate the needs and wants of a pet they rescued from a shelter many years ago. These qualities are extremely rare and I am proud to know there are people out there who will go the extra mile to make life better for one animal (or in this case, many rescued pets over the years.) Perhaps you can start looking at the good in stories instead of making thoughtless comments that hurt those who are trying their best everyday.

Yes Maria you read that right. Doesn't make much sense now does it? In the video the guy didn't even seemed phased about them locking in a garage due to a hurricane coming. Yeah those are the people I would want to have one of my animals.. Really dude.. Great you drove all the way to get him back but what do you plan on doing with him now giving him back to the same family or will you find him a new one?. Maybe he will unregister his cat with the microchip company so he is not bothered again when the cat gets away. However I am interested in how the cat came to Ma. If only they could talk and tell us the story. Good luck Kitty I think you will need it.

so these people gave up their cat so it could live on a farm...then the poor thing had to live in a garage during a hurricane and now these people who originally gave the cat up are claiming it again and taking it back home??? Did I read that correctly? Terrible writing for this article. I wouldn't have let those people touch that cat!! Technically it wasn't 'lost' if they gave it up to another family so it could live on a farm or in a garage! Pathetic :/
