CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) – Chicopee may still be on the radar for a casino in the city.
That’s according to Mayor Michael Bissonnette who spoke with our Reporter, Brendan Monahan this afternoon about what’s happening in Chicopee when it comes to the casino race.
Bissonnette told ABC40 News that he met with a potential casino developer earlier today. That developer is currently seeking a casino partner but is still interested in building a downtown Chicopee casino along the riverfront.
He would not elaborate on who that developer was though.
At various times over the past few years, Bissonnette says he entered talks about a possible gaming venue in the city with a number of casino developers including MGM, Ameristar, Hard Rock, and Penn National Gaming.
The application deadline for casino developers to get a Massachusetts Casino License is tomorrow at 5 p.m. and they must submit a nonrefundable fee of $400,000 to qualify.

Give it up already.
In the meantime, the Mayor of Holyoke is on vacation and has flipped flopped on this questions 3X. And no news interest…
