Two Local Police Departments Investigate Separate Robberies at Subway Restaurants


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police in Springfield and Chicopee are investigating separate robberies at Subway Restaurants in the respective communities.

Springfield police say a man walked into the Subway at 1400 Main Street around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and had his hand in his pocket like he had a gun.

No weapon was shown and the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police are looking for a man about 5 feet 9 inches in his late 30’s wearing a dark wind breaker. He was last seen heading south on Main Street.

Meantime, Police in Chicopee are investigating at robbery at the Subway on Center St. It happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the man wearing a hoodie, scarf and glasses and had a club.

A State Police K9 was called in, but unable to track the suspect.
