UMass Guard Jesse Morgan has Torn ACL; Season Over

Jesse MorganAmherst, MA (WGGB) — UMass Guard Jesse Morgan tore the ACL in his right knee, last week, and will not play again this season.

It appeared, at first, that Morgan had sidestepped a major landmine, when UMass trainers initially diagnosed his injury as a knee sprain.

But Tuesday, Morgan learned he had torn his ACL — an injury he will receive surgery on in February.

Morgan will not play again, this year, for a UMass team that has started the season 11-4.  Morgan is the second-leading scorer for the Minutemen, averaging 13.4 ppg.  Morgan is also considered one of the best defenders on the team.

UMass is on the court again, Thursday night, against Duquesne, in their Atlantic 10 home opener.
