SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police in Springfield need your help finding a man wanted for breaking and entering and assault and battery.
On August 11 at about 4:30 in the morning, a store manager was taking inventory at the Family Dollar store on Main Street in Springfied when police say Jesus Negrin broke in.
“He’s no stranger to the police department, he’s been locked up many, many times going back to the year 2000,” says Police Sgt. John Delaney.
Negrin added to his record that morning by trying to steal electronics from the store.
“When he confronted the manager, he assaulted him and then ran out of the store, called the police, we never got him. He ran, it was early in the morning, and he got away,” adds Delaney.
The two detectives who answered the call were patrolling Locust Street when they saw Negrin lurking in the shadows and fingered him.
It also helped that Negrin left a little something extra at the crime scene.
“There was some blood evidence left behind when he cut himself inside the store he broke into, and we took that and we got a perfect DNA match,” explains Delaney.
Negrin is 34-years-0ld and is about 5’11, weighing around 160 lbs.
His last known address is on Chestnut Street in Springfield.
If you see Jesus Negrin call 9-1-1 or you can send police an anonymous tip.
Just text it to CRIMES or 2-7-4-6-3-7 and in the message type SOLVE and your tip.
