Hope this bill stiffen sentences for illegal possession of guns and bullets. I would like to see a year mandatory for each bullet and 5 year mandatory for the gun. 20 years on most guns mandatory jail sentence for illegal possession of a gun. “Take care little things, big things take care themselves”. It so easy to control gun violence without penalizing the ones that don’t create it.

I don’t usually push my views out there, but i am REALLY sick & tired of all the idiots who keep saying more gun laws & restrictions! We don’t blame cars because a drink driver kills someone, why blame a gun for shooting someone. Stricter gun laws only affect the law abiding citizen’s 2nd amendment rights instead of the Morton criminals that break the laws & use guns for violence, so how about instead of punishing law abiding citizens, we actually punish the criminals with stricter punishments when they use guns illegally, instead of slaps on the wrists, probation & etc. We make sexual offenders register so the public & employers are aware of how dangerous they are, why not have a registry for gun law offenders so that gun shops, the public & employers know they are violent criminals.
Oh the mental health issue is another huge aspect of this. Not so much to just control guns from being possesses by people but to actual make more services really available to these people. Closed down the state mental facilities to just put severely mentally handicapped people on the street. And to top it off getting services that treat people for allot of disorders is not that easy. When trying to get help for someone, you are turned away, mental disorders not recognized at all, told to just report kids/adults to the police because there is nothing the medical professionals can do but supposedly the courts will help them, but nope they don’t, as well as so many situations that don’t help mentally disabled people, their family & acquaintances to help prevent breakdowns. Just disgusted by the lack of the big picture & how laws could really help prevent gun violence
