Armed Robbery in Holyoke

holyokeWEBHOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) – Holyoke Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Dairy Mart on Dwight Street in Holyoke.

It happened around 1:30 Saturday afternoon.

According to Holyoke Police Lt. David Fournier, a suspect described as a heavy-set, masked male pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register.

The suspect fled the scene in a car. Police were able to get a license plate number and found the car, empty, a few minutes later on Franklin Street in Holyoke.

After reviewing security footage from the convenience store, detectives were at least able to match the description of the suspect to video from the security system.

Holyoke Police Detectives are processing the recovered car, and are continuing to investigate the incident.

  1. If and when they find the gun’s involved in all these robbery’s lately, Is it an impossible task to trace the gun from the original seller to the perp who used the gun in a crime? I think that some type of system would have been in place years ago.
