Music Marks 57th Presidential Inauguration

WASHINGTON (WGGB) — Music and song played an integral part in Monday’s inauguration ceremonies, with moving performances of some of the nation’s most classic songs.

Following an address from New York Senator Charles Schumer, who served as inauguration chairperson, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir performed first with a rousing performance of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Among the celebrities lend their voice to Monday’s events were James Taylor who performed “America the Beautiful” and Kelly Clarkson who was accompanied by the U.S. Marine Band for “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.”

Beyonce concluded the ceremony with a rendition of the National Anthem.
