Victim Identified in Central Street Murder
January 21st, 2013
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Police are investigating Springfield’s third homicide of the year.
It happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Central and Beech streets.
Police say 19-year-old Reshawn Robbins of Springfield was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to Baystate Medical Center.
Sunday evening, police confirmed that Robbins died from his injuries.
The Springfield Detective Bureau is investigating the homicide.

Seriously this is the saddest thing I have ever read I went to school with that boy and he was a good kid. To see adults sit here and make assumptions about him and his family is completely disrespectful it doesn’t matter why he was out so late a young man with his whole life ahead of him lost his life!! That’s the issue that spfld can’t seem to keep control of what’s going that people are blaming the people who died and not the shooter..REALLY.

To preach about what time, where he should have been, where were his parents, is just another way to see how unattached our community has become. A young man was killed regardless of what time & part of the city he was in. So rather then try to find a solution to this problem the community would rather dictate where & why. This could have been your son or family member. Our kids are dying in all areas & hours; and their not all gang members. There are good kids out there too. Springfield needs to find a solution. Our kids should be safe at 3am and/or 3pm. The hour of the day or night isn’t what killed this young man. So stop focussing on the where, how, and when & find the murderer who is still walking the streets before another child dies, you or mine!

He was out late at a friend party, while walking home a car drove by & shot him, it’s a shame how the city treats 17 yr olds as adults but in this case, they ask why was he out so late? … find da shooter & stop all dis violence, our children are being killed over stupid ****.. to the family God give them strength, always have in mind even innocent ppl get killed…

It’s so sad when a family is grieving the loss of 1 of their children & people just point fingers at the victim & the parents, they didn’t pull the trigger. To those pointing fingers & accusing, Stop & think, this could have been 1 of your own just walking home after a friends bday party, from da mall or even in school… I a mother of 4 young men, ask everyone to, Please Stop accusing & start praying for our children & our city… don’t blame anyone if you don’t know anything!

Why not move out of the city? Many of the SPD employees have done so in the past five years. Cops see this citys underbelly every day. Take their lead, get your family out while they are still breathing.
Crime is everywhere, running away isn’t the answer that’s for the weak, if everyone puts a little effort in making springfield a better place to live & stop accusing the victims & thier families, & focus on the shooters that took this innocent kids life, just pray for this family that lost a loved one, a son, a brother, a cousin… remember criminals are everywhere & just thank God it wasn’t one of your own… Thank you, A worried mother of 4 young men.

So many people are quick to judge and say it must have been gang or drug related and place blame on the parents and the victim. You have no idea of all the facts and you should probably have a little bit of sympathy, a young man; by the way 19 not 17 years old has died and the family is in mourning. I was taught if I have nothing good to say then say nothing, especially when you don’t have the facts correct. I pray that someone shows you the sympathy you lack when tragedy comes to you.

So sad that someone lost their life. Yes there are a lot of questions surrounding the circumstance of the shooting but that doesn’t give anyone the right to jump to conclusions about the situation. What really gets me is a lot of people commenting on this story don’t know how to spell, use full sentences or proper English.

So why was there shells leading up to his body? Its true this is sad to of happend but I would love to know if anyone cares that kids live in a house that was being shoot at.
