SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WGGB) – Southwick Police and State Police have released the identity of a young woman killed in an early morning car accident Monday. The crash happened at 1:30 AM in the area of 190 Old Granville Road.
Police say 22-year-old Haley Tierney of East Granby, Conn. was killed when the vehicle she was traveling in with two other girls crossed the center line on Granville Road, colliding with some trees on the opposite side of the street.
Tierney, a passenger, had to be extricated from the vehicle, a 2002 Mazda.
Police say the driver, 21-year-old Jillian Rolland of Southwick was also extricated from the car and air-lifted to Baystate Medical Center. The other passenger, 21-year-old Jayme Barry of Simsbury, Conn. was also taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Police say the accident is still under investigation.
