AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Federal aviation officials have explained the mysterious flying object seen in the Amherst area earlier his month — sort of.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says a military aircraft was flying over Amherst on Jan. 8 at about the time residents reported seeing the UFO flying silently overhead.
The spokesman tells The Daily Hampshire Gazette the giant C5 cargo plane was doing practice approaches to Westover Air Reserve Base.
A Westover spokesman at first said there was no record of aircraft flying over Amherst at that time, but later said there was.
The UFO was described by witnesses as triangular or diamond-shaped, the size of two or three cars, flying slow and silent.
That does not jibe with a C5, which is almost 250 feet long and extremely loud.

About 7 years ago coming north on 391 right after the 91 split. I and 4 other cars stopped to watch the incredibly white light that silently swooped down over the ct river and up and over the mountain…mt Tom that is….. I was told it must of been a c-5… This was about a year after leaving the navy as an aviation mechanic…. I laughed…
It was probably a Stealth Bomber and they are keeping it quiet that there is one at Westover

How is this remotely true? When previously reported that near by air ports saw nothing on radar. Yet the FAA now reports it was an Air Force plane. Awesome the FAA has the best radar. Come on people!. I am not into E.T. nonsense or Star Trek. But where is true censorship? Sorry to say our government tells the sheep (us) what to eat wear and believe. when I saw the same thing in Palmer over rt 32 at 2:30 in the morning I only told family and friends why report it. they just come back with the same ****. If Westover said there was nothing in air from there then they have no clue what it was just a cover up.
