Police Investigate Home Invasion in Holyoke

Police-Home InvasionHOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) —  A homeowner is recovering this evening from some minor injuries after getting into a fight with an unidentified person who broke into their home early this evening.

Police say at about 6:20 p.m. they received a call for a home invasion at 787 Dwight Street.

When officers arrived and spoke with the homeowner, he told them he and the suspect fought in the kitchen area.  The person then fled out the rear door of the home.

According to Lt. Matthew Moriarty, the homeowner also described the suspect as masked and having a handgun.

A State Police K-9 Unit has been called in to track down the suspect.

No word on if anything was stolen.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
