Holyoke, Mass (WGGB) – Sixth graders from The Sullivan School in Holyoke recently studied author Katherine Paterson. She often writes about being away from family. And one of the sixth graders could relate. His dad is serving in Afghanistan. So the kids decided to send his dad and fellow soldiers letters and cards.

The sixth graders wanted to make sure the soldiers knew they were not forgotten. The kids wrote and shipped the cards out in time for the holidays.
