ABC40 Honor Roll – New Club Helping Create Leaders

Holyoke, Mass – (WGGB) Students at the Peck Middle School in Holyoke have formed a new club called “STAR.” It stands for Students Together Accepting Responsiblility.

The goal is to encourage kids to become leaders within the school community. Students in the group will gather feed back from their peers and explore new ideas for clubs and field trips.  They will also learn how to conduct observations and surveys.

Organizers say when kids have the opportunity to have their voices heard it increases their self-esteem and personal sense of responsibility.
