Rondo Has Torn ACL, Will Miss Remainder of Season

rajon-rondo-boston-celticsBoston (WGGB) — Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has torn his ACL, ending his 2012-13 season.

Rondo underwent an MRI, Sunday, after a preliminary diagnosis of a hyperextended knee.

Rondo did not play, today, against the Miami Heat.  Initial reports cited the hyperextension as the reason for his late scratch.

But after an MRI at New England Baptist Hospital, the diagnosis was confirmed by team doctor Brian McKeon.

Surgery will come at a yet unspecified date.
