STONEHAM, Mass. (AP) — Investigators say a remote car key has sparked a car explosion in a Massachusetts parking lot.

State police say the explosion happened Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of BJ’s Wholesale Club in Stoneham.

The State Fire Marshal’s office says a remote car key — when it was hit — ignited vapors from plumbing equipment inside the car.

Several other vehicles in the parking lot were also damaged.

No injuries were reported.
