Holyoke Medical Center’s President and CEO is Stepping Down

Hank J. Porten Former HMC President and CEOHOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — The President and CEO of Holyoke Medical Center and its affiliates has announced he will be stepping down from his position sometime this summer.

Hospital Spokesperson, Nancy Coley made the announcement today.

President and CEO, Hank Porten has actively worked with the Holyoke Medical Center staff for nearly 28 years now.

Coley says,” Mr. Porten has guided the hospital and its affiliates through many turbulent and challenging times while continuing to provide high-quality health care services to the patients and communities these organizations serve. He will continue to work with these organizations through the parent company, Valley Health Systems, Inc. as they navigate through the continuing challenges facing the health care delivery system.”

The hospital’s Board of Directors has already formed a search committee for a new President and recruitment efforts are currently underway.
