SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A Springfield man was stabbed from his eye to the back of his head this afternoon by a suspect police believe was using a box cutter.
The 28-year-old man arrived at Baystate Medical Center at 3:30 p.m. today.
While Police Captain, Cheryl Clapprood couldn’t say how he arrived, she did say he’s still being treated, ”His injuries are not-life threatening but certainly serious and a lot of stitches.”
The man, who knows the first name of his attacker, will be working with Police to identify him when he’s released.
“His girlfriend was arguing with another girl and then that girl’s boyfriend attacked him from behind with a box cutter we believe is the weapon,” explains Clapprood.
The stabbing remains under investigation by the Springfield Police Department.
