SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Chips, pizza and wings are your typical Super Bowl snacks, but how do you wow your party guests by changing the game? President of Pioneer Valley Culinary Association, Chef Warren Leigh, gives us two appetizer recipes that are sure to please.
Grilled Shrimp with curry and paprika
Season the shrimp at least ½ day ahead of cooking them. These can be pan seared or grilled if you are tailgating.
Cook until they are tender.
Deveined shell on shrimp
- · Curry
- · Paprika
- · Salt
- · Pepper
- · Extra virgin olive oil
- · Lemon juice
All ingredients are to taste. You may use any seasonings that you like, basil pesto (Italian), paprika and garlic (Andalusia), Buffalo…. Use your imagination.
Baked goat cheese with cranberry chutney
Layer the goat cheese and chutney at a ratio that you like. If you like more chutney or cheese then layer to your taste, and then bake at 350 degrees.

- · Cranberry Chutney
- · Salt and Pepper to taste as you layer
Of course you can layer this to your taste, olive tapenade works well with goat cheese, basil pesto, pepper jelly ….. again use your imagination.
