Scooping Ice Cream for a Good Cause

friendly's fundraiserSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Some Springfield Falcons helped the Easter Seals out tonight by scooping ice cream as part of the “Cones for Kids” campaign.

They participated in an ice cream scooping competition at Friendly’s on Boston Road in Springfield to help the campaign.

It’s designed to raise money for the Easter Seals’ summer camp that helps kids and adults with disabilities giving them equal opportunities to live, learn, and play.

Jesse Ascioti who went to the Easter Seals camp as a child and who now works there as an instructor, told ABC40 News, “It’s a great organization, really.  It does a lot, helps people with disabilities, especially in the communities.  They have various programs and various ways to help.”

The Cones for Kids campaign runs through February 14 and there are a number of ways you can help out just visit your local Friendly’s restaurant.
