This is so sad to hear. This is the story I would have preferred to have read……… SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A 73-year-old Springfield man shot and killed several thieves which broke into his house looking for money. .

Springfield Police Lt. Alberto Ayala says they received the call just before 9:00 p.m. for an incident at the home at 92 College Street.

Lt. Ayala told ABC40 News, “They forced the back door open. Money was demanded. The elderly man who was in the home at the time retrieved his legally owned .45 caliber firearm from his night stand and fatally wounded all thieves. Each thief was shot approximately 18 times each, as they were dumb enough to bring a knife to a gun fight.

The unidentified elderly man was also an active member of the NRA and was fully trained in the use of a firearm. When the unidentified man was asked why he shot the thieves 18 times each, he replied “I ran out of ammo”.

The elderly man stated that due to the number of violent crimes and home invasions commited by thieves with illegal weapons and knives, it was his belief that every citizen should have the right to arm and protect themselves as he did. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE CASE….. PLEASE DON’T GET MAD, IT’S JUST MY OPINION.

The unidentified man was transported to a local hospital. At this time his condition is unknown.

The thieves were able to make off with a large amount of money.

Police are searching for the suspects and continue to investigate this incident. Their descriptions and how many there were is currently unknown at this time.

I agree. One of these punks knew he had money in his home and they stabbed him until he gave it up.
There is no room in the jails. we should have a tent prison grounds on Bondi’s Island with 20 foot fences all around . No perks. Just sit there and do your time. after school programs obviously do not work. Same as the punks who commit these crimes.

To bad the old man didn’t have a gun to shoot the Mother-f@&$?#. I’d rather he shot the SOB and got rid of the douche bag to better society. But this is the problem many people face . The question of guns has always been for one of these reasons. TO DEFEND YOURSELF . This could’ve been anyone physically inferior to their attacker at any age and any ***. And many say let the cops protect you it’s their job . Let’s cut the **** here illogical liberal thinkers, cops can not be there all the time and almost all times they show up after the crime has happened.

This may have been someone close to this elderly man and due to the injuries sustained they may find whoever did this, I hope to hear soon of those who committed this crime. Stabbed 18 times should also be held with attempted murder.
