We also had a 1 yr old. So I figured I would try to get food stamps. Went to the office off state street, talked to a guy and was told my husband made too much. Ok no biggie. Went to leave and the guy told me that I should separate from my husband then I would be able to collect. Told him no thanks…I married him for a reason and was not going to screw the system. I couldn’t believe he had the nerve to talk me to do that! We pulled through our tough time on our own.
