EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) — The assistant principal at Easthampton High School has been placed on paid administrative leave following her arrest on drunken driving charges.
Anne Beauregard pleaded not guilty Monday in Springfield District Court to a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
West Springfield police said they found the 51-year-old Beauregard in the driver’s seat of a car at about 1:50 a.m. Thursday.
The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports that the running but stationary vehicle was facing south in the northbound lane of a city street with front driver’s side tire rim damage that an officer attributed to the car hitting the curb.
Police say Beauregard was unsteady on her feet and slurring her words.
She could not be reached for comment.

Anddddd, a drunk is protecting your children?
Just about every other job in the blue collar world drug tests – so test teachers and admin!
God.
Dont forget cops, figher fighters and EMTs all should be random drug tested.
Not pay administrative leave FIRE him I wouldnt want him around my kids man what is schools coming to we cant even trust our teachers and staffs and Administrative time to find a new assistant principal
wow WIlliam way to read the article be fore posting…She is a woman, as indicated by her first name.
She was drunk not on drugs, drinking is legal – why talk about drug testing? Did any of you actually read the article ? Of course she should not have been driving.
Just because someone went out & was drinking does not make them a drunk. Poor judgement, yes, but not necessarily a drunk.
Alcohol IS a drug. Drug testing will still pick up alcohol in ones system for 78 hours or so after consumption.
I don’t care IF she’s a drunk as long as she does it on HER time. The fact that she exercised such poor judgement is what’s so worrisome!! Which in turn leads me to wonder whether or not she is only doing it on HER time and how many times did she do it before she actually got caught!?
Come on…. What if she had caused an accident and killed not only herself but one of the parents of the students she teaches?
There’s so many ways to look at this and we all have our own opinion…. This is just horribly wrong in my opinion.
If she exercised such horrible judgement in this scenario how many other scenarios has she been in (mind you while teaching as well) where she has possibly put children at risk. SO MESSED UP. Bottom line. We trust these people with our precious children….!! I’m not a drunk w poor judgement…. Why would I want to send my babies to school to be exposed to a drunk w poor judgement??
P.s. (I’m sure there will be some people with opposing views saying, “she’s not a drunk” etc.) Believe it or not…. It doesn’t take much to be considered a drunk. Whether you only do it on the weekends or not. It’s called a “functioning alcoholic”. But, in my opinion when you start to involve and endanger other people because of your drinking…. You are a drunk….
And, its a 4th Offense. I.’d say that shes earned the drunk title by now
Oh look at that…. 4th offense?? I had no idea. This confirms my previous post. Sad she still has a job.
I don’t think Wggb posted about the multiple offenses, but Masslive and the Gazette are, in their fb posts or the headlines

4th dui and on paid leave…great way to spend your tax dollars. Should be fired!
Someone like her should be held to a higher standard. How can she who is irresponsible and breaks the law repeatedly, be expected to instill values or morals in her school. And she is a drunk if this is her 4 dui violation! She obviously has a problem with drinking and should be fired.
WTF she should be in jail! 4x in 2 years? I don’t care who she is or whose time it was on. She could have killed someone.
