Colorful Plow Trucks Heading Out Tomorrow.. Courtesy of Local Students

NORTHAMPTON, Mass (WGGB)- If you live in Northampton, you may spot colorful plow trucks on the road tomorrow. Fifth grade students from local elementary schools painted the plows as a project in their art classes.

Some designs thank the Department of Public Works for all of their hard work. The purpose of this project: to educate kids on exactly what the DPW does to help the community.

“Its nice to be getting involved with kids that are younger. Instead of throwing snowballs at us as we drive by, they are actually like hey thats the plow we painted from our school!” says DPW representative Richard Parasiliti.

Each plow that has been painted goes by the particular school that did the artwork. The Northampton DPW plans to do a similar art project in the Elementary Schools next year.
