Springfield Ready for the Storm

Mayor Domenic Sarno and representatives from all departments held a news conference, to let people know that all schools will be closed Friday.

The mayor urged people to stay home once the snow starts, but if possible to keep your vehicle off the street.

Sarno said, “Please if you can get your car off the street, get it off the street, so DPW can do their job.  Also so ambulance, fire or police have to traverse some of these side street areas, it’s essential, get your cars off the street. “

The Civic Center Garage off of Harrison Avenue will offer two dollar, twelve hour parking until the parking ban is lifted.  The mayor also said that trash will be picked up Friday. You’re barrels should be out on the tree belt by 4 tomorrow morning.
