Conn. Gov. Bans Traffic Starting at 4:00 p.m.
February 8th, 2013
HARTFORD, Conn. (WGGB) – The Governor of Connecticut has followed Massachusetts in issuing a travel ban.
Just before 3:00 p.m. Friday, Connecticut Mayor Dannel Malloy signed an order prohibiting all traffic beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday.
The ban in Connecticut “does not extend to emergency response and recovery vehicles, including public safety vehicles, utility vehicles, and vehicles carrying essential personnel or supplies,” according to the order
Malloy’s order follows a similar order signed by Mass. Governor Deval Patrick late Friday morning.
Patrick’s order bans all traffic on all roads in Massachusetts starting at 4:00 p.m.

More Government “banning”. Very interesting. Learn from history, my friends.

The roads are terrible in MA. I’m not surprised that CT would ban nonessential travel.

You do realize people driving in storms is the reason they’re keeping convenience stores open, thus putting the store workers in danger because they in turn have to stay open later? Unless you are one of the few who actually has to be forced to go out of this, you can kindly shut the **** up.

This is bs!!!!!
What took so long? It’s been snowing at a rate of a tenth of a inch per hour for like 6 hours now?
We really do have morons that run this state! Yes Patrick, the 2 inches here in chicopee means it is way too deep to drive in. What are we to do. We live in new England dumbass, if you don’t know how to drive in snow…..move.
Maybe if the useless plows actually plowed instead of sitting around in the DPW yard, getting paid time and a half. What happened to the days when the plows would go down the street 3-4 times during a storm?
Would that be a unofficial marshal law….
