Limited Amtrak Service Resumes Sunday

AmtrakNEW YORK (AP) — Amtrak says some trains will start running again between New York and Boston on Sunday. But some other Northeast trains will still be canceled after the blizzard that left as much as three feet of snow on the tracks.

The railroad announced Saturday that limited New York-to-Boston service will resume Sunday.

Service remains canceled on the Springfield Shuttle service. It runs between New Haven, Conn., and Springfield, Mass.

Amtrak says it’s yet to be determined whether the Downeaster line can resume running Sunday between Boston and Brunswick, Me.

Around the region, crews are clearing snow and downed trees from the tracks and making repairs.

Meanwhile, trains are running south from New York and between the city and Albany, N.Y.
