SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Westfield man has pleaded guilty to having tens of thousands of pictures and images of children engaged in sexual conduct on his computers.

Richard Starr pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Springfield to a single charge of possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors.

The FBI traced an email requesting child pornography to the 56-year-old Starr’s home computer in 2008. The FBI and local police obtained a search warrant and seized multiple computers from Starr’s home. A forensic examination discovered the images and videos.

Starr faces up to 10 years in prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for May 9.
