SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) – Police say the description of ‘armed and dangerous’ is a perfect fit for 23-year-old Steven Santiago. They say on January 14th, Santiago brutally attacked the pregnant mother of his children in an apartment on Union Street. The victim had a restraining order against him.
Police say at 2am that morning, Santiago broke into the apartment through the backdoor.
“He surprised the victim on the couch, she was watching TV.” Sergeant John Delaney of Springfield Police says. “The two children she was looking after were his.”
Police say Santiago was looking for a fight. Fearing for the safety of her children, the victim attempts to usher them into the bedroom and close the door.
“She was greeted with a punch to the face that knocked her on the ground.” Sgt. Delaney says. “Then he kicked her in the stomach with heavy winter boots. She’s 7 months pregnant.”
Santiago took off before the police arrived at the scene. The victim was rushed to the hospital.
Police say Steven Santiago has been in trouble with the law before – arrested several times on drugs and weapons charges. If you know his whereabouts, call the Springfield Police Department or text an anonymous tip to C-R-I-M-E-S.
So he’s an unattractive, abusive drug addict that gets in trouble with the law. Wtf did she see in this loser that made her have 3 kids with him?! Smh. Hope her unborn child is okay. Also, hope those kids aren’t scarred for life after witnessing this.
