Education Chief Backs Expansion of Chinese School

SCHOOL6HADLEY, Mass. (AP) — The state education commissioner has recommended that a western Massachusetts Chinese immersion school be permitted to open a high school.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports that Mitchell Chester, the elementary and secondary education commissioner, recommended that the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley expand to 12th grade. It currently offers classes from kindergarten through ninth grade.

The expansion requires approval by the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Chester’s is recommending an expansion of the school’s charter to allow it to educate 584 students, up from 300 students.

In February 2012, the state board followed Chester’s recommendation by extending the school’s charter for five years for kindergarten through eighth grade and approved adding ninth grade for one year, to allow eighth-grade students to continue at the school.

With Google translate, who needs to learn Chinese? This is so un-American? Why should we promote the language of a foreign country that will most likely become our enemy?

Why? Because our wonderful president is selling us out little by little with his socialist policies. Within 20 years, China will be top dog on this planet, unfortunately. Obama is killing this country and the parents of these children realize it and are actually helping their children. Sad but true reality.
