Woman Killed after Being Struck by Car on Main Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police have the driver who was involved in a deadly hit and run Monday afternoon in custody.
They’re not releasing any information about whether charges are being filed or the driver’s name.
They’re still investigating the crash that killed a woman in Springfield’s North End.
It happened around 12:15 p.m. in the area of 2700 Main Street.
ABC40 will have the latest as it becomes available on-air and online.

I hate driving downtown, people just pop out of nowhere and decide that it’s ok to cross.. There’s crosswalks EVERYWHERE, start using them!
Really no one looks anymore they just walk right out in front of cars scares me half to death and it happens almost daily in Springfield no one uses cross walks!
Well the word on fb and medinas the woman was almost due to give birth anf was ran down and killed by her baby daddys wife both died. U never really know the facts through media but iv eheard it from numerous sources

She was struck so hard her head was off they said like who does that she is caught and I hope to God she gets what she deserves.. bc I dont even think Gods punishment would b enough

Im hoping not im the car all we can do as a community is teach our children love and compassion it takes a village to raise a child and if they r not shown theae things growing up they carry that anger and misjudgement into adulthood. Coping skills should b taught in school and at home

I dont know whats going on I heard the victim was struck by her baby daddys wife and she actually exploded the driver was arrested and the victim was 9 months pregnant the news is saying otherwise im confused I never believe rumors but witnesses from medinas said thats what happened and tenants across the street

The driver didnt die whoever said that they say they have her in custody.

Well honestly I dont know how these unfortunate peiple rip when tbeybdie so tragically wo ylrhllthe opportunitybto even ask God for fogivness for whatever the case may be it is very sad and I too hope they rest in peace

The driver had a police escort when she left the hospital.
Well considering it came from 5 different resources in 5 different locations I think its fair to say I had enough to go on. And like I said I heard! I dont start rumors I was relaying what I heard and clearly stated such!

She is being charged with several things none pertaining to accidental vehicular homicide. Im telln u she ran down the girl sheesh
