SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Doctors are currently determining a course of action after a mass was found in a Falcons player that suffered a seizure on the ice Sunday.
Forward Wade MacLeod’s family released released the following statement through the team Tuesday:
“A CT scan performed on Wade resulted in the discovery of a benign mass. He will be undergoing further examination to determine the appropriate treatment. We appreciate the respect of Wade’s privacy at this time.”
During Sunday’s game against the Adirondack Phantoms at the MassMutual Center, MacLeod was checked against the boards and his head hit the glass.
MacLeod continued to skate for a few moments, but then fell to the ice and suffered a seizure. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he was treated, and subsequently released Monday afternoon.
The game was canceled after the second intermission. The game has been rescheduled for March 1.
