HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — There’s now a new Veterans’ assistance center to provide services to vets around the area.
Veterans and local officials turned out for the grand opening at the Holyoke Soldiers Home Thursday.
The new center will be staffed by certified service officers from the Disabled American Veterans local chapters to provide a number of services.
“Everybody can locate the Soldiers Home. It’s a relaxed, calm environment and that’s important I think especially if you’re a younger veteran, you just want to be on the down low,” says Lori Santy with the D.A.V.
Services are available not only to residents of the Soldiers’ Home, but to veterans throughout western Mass.
