Route 141 in Holyoke Back Open Following Head-On Crash


HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — A head-on collision that forced a partial closure of a busy thoroughfare in Holyoke is back open.

Holyoke Police say that just before 2:30 p.m. Friday, two cars crashed head-on at the intersection of Easthampton Road (Route 141) and Bemis Road.

Route 141 was closed for several hours between Southampton Road and Bemis Road while crews worked to clear the scene.

Two people were taken to Baystate Medical Center. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area after the accident happened.  Police reported that traffic did get backed up as a result.
