Family Members Say Body Found was Shawn Dunson

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) –Family members say the body found Friday afternoon along the Connecticut River is that of 33 year old Shawn Dunson.

He was located near the South End Bridge after going missing back on February 3rd.

Dennis Leger, executive aide to Springfield’s fire commissioner, says that a little after 3:00 p.m. Friday, a caller reported seeing a body about 600 yards from the banks of the river, south of the South End Bridge.

A rescue boat was able to go and retrieve the body of what Leger said at the time was a middle-aged man.

  1. Very very sad and I dont think enough is being said about this incid3nt. .there is a murderer on the lose. This man worked more than a decad3 as a cook downtown springfield, people knew him….lets remember his hospitality to us and find this person! This monster! My deep condolences to the family. I would pray if I went missing and then found murdered there would b more than a few news storys covering and my family left to fight alone.
