Funeral Services Set for Kiley M.S. Student

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — This week, family, friends, and community members will say goodbye to a city sixth grader that died after a swim class.

12-year-old Marlon Brown died Friday, February 15 of an apparent drowning at Kiley Middle School.

Brown is survived by his parents, two sisters, a brother, grandparents, and other relatives.

According to an obituary from Henderson’s Funeral Home, “Marlon was a kind, friendly, outgoing child with a special love for animals and music. His most precious passion was spending time with his grandmother and other family members.”

Calling hours for Brown will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wesley United Methodist Church on State Street.

A service of Thanksgiving will be held immediately after, at 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Brown will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
