In 1959 when I started at LHS, the auditorium held about 525 students which at the time, was the entire student body. Four years later, the auditorium could only hold half of the students requiring at times two assemblies. One time we had a “science guy there, and he started up and ran a model Dynajet ramjet engine on the stage. And the toilets were clean back then too. And lunches were a quarter. And there were no soda or snack vending machines.
