BOSTON (AP) — Cohasset businessman Gabriel Gomez is taking to the campaign trail to formally launching his U.S. Senate bid.
The Republican and former Navy SEAL plans to tour the state Thursday more than two weeks after releasing a video saying he was getting into the race.
Until now, Gomez has refused to hold public events or speak to reporters.
The first event will be at an American Legion Hall in Quincy at 8:15 a.m., followed by a stop at Broday’s Diner in Shrewsbury and a visit to an American Legion Hall in West Springfield.
Gomez, Norfolk state Rep. Daniel Winslow and former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan all say they’ve collected enough signatures to get on the April 30 Republican primary ballot.
Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch are facing off against each other on the Democratic side.
