Mass. Man Sues Marina Over Burned Feet

Court1

DANVERS, Mass. (AP) — A Rowley man who says he burned the soles of his feet while walking barefoot on a metal ramp at a Danvers marina has filed a lawsuit, saying the facility’s owners should have warned him the ramp was hot.

Norman Pelletier says in his suit he suffered second-degree burns after walking on the ramp at the Danversport Yacht Club in June. His lawyer says he required medical attention.

The lawsuit, filed last week in Salem Superior Court, seeks at least $15,000 in damages.

Pelletier’s lawyer alleges the yacht club’s management was negligent because it didn’t warn visitors the ramp might be hot, and failed to provide a “reasonably safe” environment.

He says the ramp gets up to 120 degrees in the sun.

Marina officials say they have never had any complaints about the ramp.

  1. Yeah it’s just like time I burnt my hand over an open flame. It was coming out of my stove, so I put my hand over it. The fire it burnt the s–t out of my hand. Do you think I could sue too? The stove didn’t say anything about 1st or 2nd degree burns…..
