Officer Injured Responding to Domestic Disturbance Call

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A Springfield police officer is recovering from minor injuries after he was called to a domestic disturbance around 12:30 this morning. Back-up officers were called to the scene on Maple Street and the detective bureau is still investigating the situation. The officer’s name is not being released at this time.

    • Tell that to the cop who gets killed on a routine traffic stop, or serving a warrant.

      Here is a breakdown for 2009, of the 49 officers killed:
      … Fifteen were ambushed
      … Eight were involved in arrest situations
      … Eight were performing traffic pursuits or stops
      … Six were answering disturbance calls
      … Five were involved in tactical situations (like high-risk entries)
      … Four were investigating suspicious persons or activities
      … Two were handling, transporting, or maintaining custody of prisoners

      Once again your generalizations continue to waste space.
