Six Flags Fair Offers Extensive Opportunities

Six FlagsAGAWAM, Mass. (wggb)– Today marked the second day of the Six Flags New England job fair. The amusement part giant is set to hire 3,000 new employees before their season begins. And as abc40 found out, the types of jobs they are looking to fill are seemingly endless.

Forget the usual scooping ice cream, doling out mini golf balls or waiting tables, summer jobs are morphing into something much more exciting and the fair sounded more like a party with hundreds of applicants and music to set the tone.

“What’s great is that we have a job for everybody. Whether you want to work inside like retail, we have games, rides, attractions, we have professional mechanic jobs available. There really is a fit for everyone, especially our lifeguards since we are opening a new attraction in our water park we are looking for some excellent lifeguards to add to our team,” said Communications Manager Melissa Pinkerton.

Bryanna Smith of Westfield was one of those lifeguard hopefuls.

“I’m applying as a lifeguard. I love working with people and I love helping people so I’m just trying to find a fun job where I can be around a lot of people,” she said.

Bryanna added, “I’m nervous but it’s fun, and everyone has been really nice.”

And while many applicants are looking for a fun job to pass the summer with, others are looking for a possible career, like Nathan Tadeo of Chicopee.

“I applied earlier online for a promotions job, marketing research or public relations,” Tadeo said.

And if you were not able to make it out this weekend you can still apply online at sixflagsjobs.com.
