Barnes Airport Tower Could Close April 7

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — New information on the impact the sequester could have at Barnes Municipal Airport in Westfield.

The airport’s control tower is on a list of towers across the U.S. that could be closed by the FAA.

ABC40 has learned that the closure could happen on April 7th.

At least five employees would be impacted.

The tower is owned by a private company, Midwest Air Traffic Control Services. The company told us they are not aware of that potential closure.
