Wanted: Yomar Pizarro

PizarroSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — It was back on November 12, 2012 when police were called to Mercy Hospital after a man and a woman showed up, covered in stab wounds.

Police say they got them while attending a little get-together at an apartment on St. James Avenue earlier that evening.

“Words were exchanged between the female and Mr. Pizarro and she didn’t like it, so she said get out of my house,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.

Pizarro’s father escorted him out and attempted to calm him down. Instead, the situation only escalated.

“Yomar Pizarro pulled his backpack off, took a knife out and started going after the father, stabbing him several times in the arms,” says Delaney.

Hearing the fight unfold after kicking Pizarro out of her apartment, the 33-year-old woman hosting the party tried to intervene.

“When she did, she got a defensive wound stabbed in her arm,” says Delaney. “She got stitches, they were both treated at the hospital.”

He adds, “They both left the hospital, came to our detective bureau, gave a full statement and they requested a warrant for Pizarro.”

Police have been looking for Yomar Pizarro for almost four months now.

If you know his whereabouts, call the Springfield Police Department at 413-787-6325 or text an anonymous tip to C-R-I-M-E-S.
