LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) — A Holyoke woman is under arrest after she crashed her car into another on Interstate 91 Thursday night.
State Police say last night around 7:45, motorists called them to report a crash in Longmeadow, just a couple miles north over the Connecticut border.
Witnesses told investigators that just before the crash happened, a Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling at a high-rate of speed in the left lane when it suddenly moved to the middle lane, crashed into another car, and rolled onto its roof.
Troopers determined on-scene that the driver of the Cavalier, identified by State Police as 38-year-old Anne Andrews of Holyoke, was allegedly operating under the influence and was arrested and taken to the State Barracks in Springfield. She is also being charged with speeding, marked lanes violations, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
The driver of the other car, 27-year-old Dominic Evans of Ludlow, and his passengers were not hurt in the crash.
Andrews is set to be arraigned Friday in Springfield District Court.
