Two Injured in Violent Home Invasion

Garfield B&ESPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A suspect is behind bars this morning after two home invasions on the same street.

Around midnight Sunday, police received a report of a man trying to break into a home on Garfield Street in Springfield.

By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled, but just moments later, police received another call for a home invasion on the same street.

According to police, a man entered the second home on Garfield Street and assaulted two residents, kicking and punching them — even slashing one of the victims across the abdomen with a knife.

The suspect then fled the home with several stolen items, but as he was leaving, officers pulled up to the property and saw him trying to sneak away.

After a brief pursuit, they caught up with the suspect and found he was carrying stolen property, as well as a weapon.

This morning, police say he is in custody. They have yet to release his name.

He will.be out by Tuesday doing the same thing because he has rights. The victims though have no rights because they have no recourse as far as what happens to this piece of crap
