CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) — Chicopee’s Senior Center received a major donation this afternoon toward their capital fundraising campaign.

The Chicopee Savings Charitable Foundation donated $250,000 to help build a new center.

According to Chicopee Savings Bank President, Bill Wagner, it’s in keeping with their history of supporting efforts to benefit seniors in the region.

“It’s very appropriate that we make a significant gift here to show the leadership and get the fundraising going,” says Wagner.

The groundbreaking for the new Senior Center has been set for April 8 at the new site on West Main Street in Chicopee Falls.
