Apparently, Ossama Sageir is one of those people.
Police say the Springfield man has been putting a lot of time and energy into harassing his ex-girlfriend since their split.
“Mr. Sageir has been more or less terrorizing the poor victim over the last couple of months,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.
Once, he showed up at the victim’s house and told her father he was going to bring him to kidney dialysis. Police say that was just a ruse to get inside.
“While he was inside the house, while she wasn’t home, he stole a box of newly sent checks and he went all over the city cashing those checks — well over $1,000 in bad checks,” says Delaney.
Then, there was the time Sageir stopped the victim from leaving her house at all.
“At one point, he text her that he was going to do damage to her car,” says Delaney. “Low and behold, she wakes up the next day and all of her tires are flattened on her car.”
Police say there have been plenty of threats in between.
They believe Sageir lives at 120 Federal Street, but for the last few months they’ve had a hard time tracking him down.
“We’re looking to get him off the street,” says Delaney. “He’s got a long history with the Springfield police department, has been a suspect in many other crimes.”
